As the old saying goes: Keep your face to the sun and you will never see the shadow. Why? Well, that’s easy, isn’t it? If you face the sun, the shadow lies behind you and not next or even in front of you. And I totally agree with that. But it’s normal to see the shadow from time to time. And it’s not a bad thing at all. I think we sometimes even need to see the shadow to grow. And otherwise we take all the good things we’ve got and receive for granted.
Usually in August there is vacation mood everywhere. Especially in my industry you can notice that. Many of the clients, agencies and production companies are away on vacation during this summer time. And this is absolutely right. I mean it is important to relax sometimes and recharge your batteries.
It’s one of those days – you are sleepy and hanging around in your bed. The sunrays tickle you and put a smile on your face. You can get up highly motivated and in a good mood. Because it is promised to get a really beautiful summer day.
Yes, I am a sun worshiper – even a lot. This was not always the case. Far from it! As a child I was pretty afraid of the sun. I tried to avoid the sun either at home or on vacation almost like the sunrays would hurt my sensible skin. You can ask my mother if you want, what torture she had with me. She, the one who wanted to enjoy the sun as much as possible, had always searched for shadow because of me, applied sunscreen with protection factor 50 and worried about carrying a hat and t-shirt.
Finally the sun is back! We didn’t have the opportunity to enjoy a lot of sun this year’s spring time. But if there are slight sunrays I am always in the mood to jump out of my house and soak up the sun as much as possible. The warmth of the sun and its impact shouldn’t be underestimated. I can feel that people in the street are happier and in a much more positive mood than on rainy days. They are even smiling to each other sometimes and this even in Zurich. ;)
