During various photoshoots I did in the last years until now, I could discover so many nice spots I haven’t really noticed before. Zurich is my hometown, but when you are rushing through the city most of the time, you miss much of its magic.
Whenever you are in Zurich, all you need is to open your eyes (and put your smartphone in your pocket) and you will see so many nice spots for taking photos or just having a good time. You can just get off at one of the tram stops and take it from there by foot. Walk some meters, stand still and turn yourself around and see the chosen spot from another angle.
The story of the past lies in nearly every corner. It doesn’t have to be the very popular tourist spots like Bahnhofstrasse, Limmatquai or Niederdorf – Zurich has numerous hidden spots in areas you usually don’t recognize except you’re living in this area or you read a lot about the city itself.
There are so many different looks in terms of the houses and streets and sometimes it just reminds me of other cities as well. The pictures below reminded me somehow of the time in London. The variety of the city is broad. I can’t see any street or area which is looking like another. Every street and every circle (we call them like that, which means area) has its own ambience and changes over the year.
In summer, Zurich is just beautiful with the lake and all the cafés. But when there’s once some snow in the city, my snow-capped hometown looks like a charming place in a storybook. Or now when fall is here and you can notice how the whole nature is changing again and shows its beautiful colors. And because all of this and many more reasons, I would say that Zurich is one of my favorite places next to other interesting places.
As I love to travel and can combine it with my job, I hopefully soon be able to take a closer look to one of my other favorite places…
