London – famous for Big Ben, Tower Bridge, London Eye, Buckingham Palace – a popular tourist destination for an exciting city trip. Not in a daily life of a male model. My London schedule was packed with appointments for shootings and castings, in between a few moments to enjoy this wonderful city. However I will tell you more about this at a later stage.
I travelled last week to the fashion and finance metropolis to realize a few shootings and projects for my blog. Meanwhile I combined it with visiting some model agencies. Well, visiting agencies sounds like having a relaxing cup of coffee with the bookers. But far away! At least not at all. My agenda was loaded with castings appointments, one after the other. So I rushed through the streets of London with my mobile in my hand to be sure to be reachable for few more meetings. And of course I needed assistance of Google Maps to find my way through the roads in London. Therefore I spent most of the time in the underground or in London’s alleyways, rushing by Piccadilly Circus, Oxford Street without having time to think about shopping and knocked on the doors of some of the world’s most famous model agencies.
Then it was time to keep one’s composure, smiling friendly and in a good mood showing your best side. Easily said a short version of a job interview. Step into the agency, short small talk, show your model book. If you are one of the lucky ones they take time to shoot current and natural pictures of you (called digitals) and then they will discuss it with the whole team. Means leaving the agency and waiting to get a feedback via your agency. Yes, such a castingday is stressful, nevertheless cool, since I can extend my network and get in touch with new interesting people.
Wonderful to end this busy day with a few moments to enjoy London and take time to drink coffee with some of my swiss model friends, who are currently on stay here. Afterwards as a balance of my busy day I finished with a little workout session in the gym.
Well London has a lot more beautiful sides to show and possibilities to offer, which I want to explain you in detail in some of the next blogposts – stay tuned…!
