…ships weren’t built to stay anchored in the harbour. This is one of the various quotes about sailing, ships or boats in general. And I totally agree. I mean when someone is calling me for a boat trip, no matter if it’s a small rowing boat, a sailing boat, a luxurious yacht or a big cruise ship, I am always keen for the idea of being on the sea. Why?
Because to me, being on a ship all alone on the big ocean is the best feeling of freedom. Well of course, I want to share this experience with my friends and family, but just us and the boat on a big and impressive ocean, riding the waves, seeing the clear blue water, diving into it and have a look to the beautiful underwater world is just what I call an amazing day, made to totally relax your body, mind and soul. It’s where I can feel free, free from any obligations or things to do. Nothing else, than enjoying the lovely company, sunbathing on the deck, swimming in the water and having cool drinks and delicious food.
As you can see, that’s definitely what ships are made for. And like always in life, take some risks, do things you have never done and enjoy the moments right when they are coming in. Don’t be afraid of headwind, just sail with the wind, but just keep sailing and don’t throw the anchor.
Take care & write you soon…
