…to beautiful Mother City. As you probably all know, I was in Cape Town for quite a long time. And I totally fell in love with this beautiful city and the special lifestyle and vibe there. It’s just so amazing and wonderful. The combination of a vibrant city and the peaceful and calm nature. The impressive mountains and the beautiful beaches. And not to forget about the delicious and tasty food. 

I am back in Zurich now and wanted to give you some recapitulatory impressions and a brief travel guide with the most recommendable things to do or places to visit if you ever have the chance to travel to this wonderful city. 

Best breakfast places

  • Jarryds in Seapoint (Avo Smash)
  • Manna Epicure at Kloof Street (Coconut Breakfast)
  • Nourish’d in Gardens (vegan Smoothie & Bowls – Boobalicious Bowl)

Best dinner places

  • Kloof Street House (cozy and fancy place with delicious food, best cheese cake)
  • Black Sheep (delicious and fresh menus, changing every week)
  • Bilbao in Camps Bay (good food and beautiful sunset view)
  • Villa 47 (italian restaurant at Bree Street)
  • Macau (new trendy asian restaurant, Thursday night party)
  • Willoughby’s at the Waterfront (best sushi in town
  • Tashas (carrot cake for dessert)

Wine farms

  • Babylonstoren in Franschoek
  • La Petite Ferme in Franschoek


  • Oranjezicht Farmer’s Market at Waterfront (Saturday and Sunday)
  • Old Biscuit Mill Market in Woodstock (Saturday)

  • Clifton Beach (good spot for sunset picnic)
  • Camps Bay (long and sandy beach with lots of restaurant and bars, very touristic)
  • Llandudno Beach (beautiful and peaceful beach, good for surfing)


  • Lions Head sunrise hike (50 mins)
  • Table Mountain morning hike (Platteklip Gorge 1h, India Venster 1h 30)
  • Muizenberg (cute village and colorful houses at the beach)
  • Bo-Kaap (historic neighborhood with colorful houses)
  • Chapman’s Peak Drive (scenic route along the coast)
  • Boulder’s Beach (swimming with penguins)
  • Cape of good Hope and Cape Point (beautiful National Park and stunning nature)
  • Seapoint promenade for running or strolling
  • Cornell Skop Farm (rescued animal farm)

These are just a few things to do in and around Cape Town. You definitely have to try it out and I am sure, you will fall in love with the city as I did.
